Learning Centers and Institutes

Craven Community College is pleased to offer a wide range of innovative programs for its students and the community.

  • Academic Skills Center – There is an Academic Skills Center (ASC) on both the New Bern and Havelock campus. The ASC provides academic support to curriculum students enrolled in courses at all levels. There mission is to partner with students in reaching their academic, personal, social and economic potential by supporting their intellectual growth, directing them to reach sources and motivated them to become lifelong learners.
  • Center for Teaching and Learning – The mission of the Center for Teaching and Learning is to provide faculty and staff with professional development that encourages and supports innovative teaching, student learning, excellence in the workplace and encourages the appreciation of diversity and global awareness.
  • Institute of Aeronautical Technology (IAT) – The mission of the Institute of Aeronautical Technology and its “Aviation Systems Technology” education program is to provide workforce training and development for the civilian and military aviation maintenance community.
  • Lifetime Learning Center –  The Craven Community College Foundation offers special programming for the adult learners in our community. The Lifetime Learning Center offers foreign film series, trips to Broadway shows, live entertainment, book discussions and lectures, and regional, national and international travel.
  • Weekend College – Craven’s Weekend College program provides the opportunity to earn an Associate in Arts (AA) degree.
