Night Train to Lisbon (International Film Series)
The Lifetime Learning Center at Craven Community College is pleased to present Night Train to Lisbon (2013, Portugal, Switzerland, Germany) as part of Explorations: The International Film Series.
Raimund Gregorius, a Swiss professor, abandons his lectures and buttoned-down life to embark on a thrilling adventure that takes him on a journey to the very heart of himself. It starts with Gregorius walking to school when he is sidetracked by a young woman standing on the rail of a bridge. He saves her from what was surely meant to be a suicidal plunge. This one act is the start of his escape from a reserved lifestyle spent in solitude. When she abruptly leaves, Gregorius realizes her story is infinitely more important than another day correcting essays, taking the professor on a journey to solve the mystery of the young woman and the intriguing book she leaves behind.
