The Black Light Project

Craven Community College’s Minority Male Success Initiative will host The Black Light Project as a way to celebrate positive African American men in the community.
The Black Light Project was started in Greenville by Tonya Jefferson Lynch to confront narratives that are portrayed in the media of African American men The Black Light Project explores black males as supporters, investors and contributors to society, while also acknowledging the need to create positive, effective change against stereotypes of the black community.
This event will consist of a visual art exhibit highlighting positive images of African American men in Craven County, including those who are students at Craven CC, The Black Light Project documentary and a panel discussion.
