The Craven Community College (Craven CC) Foundation was presented with a donation from the New Bern Woman's Club (NBWC) on March 16. The NBWC advocates for local students by easing financial burdens and encouraging women to reach their educational goals.

The donation will go toward the Student Emergency Fund, which provides funding to students with critical needs such as educational materials and necessary equipment used in their field of study. Craven CC students have utilized these funds to assist with electricity bills, testing fees, gas emergencies, books, internet access, and much more. The NBWC also has a Community Service Program Scholarship and a Memorial Scholarship, which is given to encourage a deserving woman with financial needs who desires to improve her life through education.

The NBWC is comprised of dedicated women who are committed to making Eastern North Carolina a better place to live and visit. Since 1905, the club has worked hard to serve the community by supporting the arts, providing educational opportunities for local students, promoting healthy lifestyles, encouraging civic involvement, and working toward community understanding. They have been a steadfast supporter of Craven CC students since 2005.

Anyone interested in donating to the Student Emergency Fund may do so at any time by visiting https://cravencc.edu/give-now.
