Craven Community College student awarded Neuse Sunrise Rotary scholarship
New Bern – Craven Community College (CCC) student Kimberly Carter was awarded a $1,000 scholarship from the Neuse Sunrise Rotary Club in Bridgeton, N.C. Carter is enrolled in the associate degree in nursing (ADN) program.
“Neuse Sunrise Rotary is a steadfast supporter of our students and we are thankful for that,” stated Judy Eurich, executive director of institutional advancement and CCC Foundation.
“We were very pleased with the pool of candidates that the college’s Foundation sent us this year, and we are happy to award the scholarship to such a deserving young lady who is focused and serious about her studies with the goal to become a Certified Nurse Midwife in mind,” stated Sue Williams, president of Neuse Sunrise (Bridgeton) Rotary.
The 2014-2015 $1,000 scholarship offsets tuition and fees. The scholarship enables a student to take college-level courses at CCC to renew certification, or obtain new skills in the medical field in order to return to the workforce. Since 2006, Neuse Sunrise Rotary Club has provided $21,000 in scholarships to CCC students.
