Dr. David and Anna Hurst made a $1-million donation for scholarships to the Craven Community College Ambassador Program and to students in the nursing program.
Officials with Craven Community College say this money will go to help students in these programs with tuition and will also help give training to students in the Ambassador Program who work with community members and new students, to teach them about all the community college has to offer.
Craig Ramey, Director of Communications at CCC says, “We’re so honored and humbled to have this donation. It shows that the Hurst’s believe in what we are doing here and the community believes in what we’re doing and it shows that people believe that the college can change people’s lives in very positive ways.”
Officials with Craven Community College say this endowment is the largest single donation the college has ever received.
To show their appreciation to the Hurst’s — the college renamed the ambassador program. It will now be called the “Craven Community College Hurst Student Ambassador Program.”
