Emily Paley, Workforce Development (WFD) administrative assistant on the Havelock campus, received a Lifesaver Award for her continued support during the college’s closure. When the campuses closed, the phone numbers from the WFD offices in New Bern and Havelock were forwarded to her. She essentially handled all WFD inquiries for about two months, coordinating phone calls and transferring information between students and instructors until about two weeks ago. She was surprised with the award Thursday, June 4, 2020.
The Lifesaver Award is given to Craven CC staff and faculty in recognition of a deed that surpasses the normal duties of a job. The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) makes recommendations to the president and then presents each recipient with a jar of lifesavers and a balloon.
