Craven CC student Alexa Bilger recently had two pieces of her artwork shipped to Raleigh and put on display at the North Carolina Community Colleges System Office (NCCCS). Her black and white piece named “Self-Portrait” and her cacophonous piece titled “Anxiety” are now part of the permanent NCCCS Art Collection.
Since 1998, the NCCCS Office has sponsored an annual statewide exhibition of artwork by NC Community College faculty, staff, students, and alumni. The collection has consisted entirely of permanent artwork from NC community colleges since March 2015.
Are you interested in discovering your artistic side? Craven CC’s Associate in Fine Arts (AFA) program prepares students interested in careers in fine or applied art. The program focuses on continued training to enhance the portfolio of students seeking competitive admission to bachelor’s degree programs, as well as students looking for additional training without seeking a four-year degree. For more information about the AFA program, contact Elizabeth Spencer, Craven CC art instructor, at 252-638-7359 or firstname.lastname@example.org.
