The Human Resources (HR) Department at Craven CC received the Lifesaver Award for their dedication to assisting fellow colleagues who were adversely affected as a result of Hurricane Florence. Following the storm, the HR Department initiated the Care4Colleagues drive, an employee-led initiative that sought to aid in the replacement of several household essentials. Before the drive began, the HR Department distributed a list of items needed in an effort to help as many employees as possible. Through the generosity of 33 college employees, enough donations were received to benefit 15 Craven CC employees and their families.
The Lifesaver Award is given to Craven CC staff and faculty in recognition of a deed that goes above and beyond the normal duties of a job. The Executive Leadership Team (ELT) makes recommendations to the president and then presents each recipient with a jar of lifesavers and a balloon.
