If you’ve never attended Craven CC before, or if you're a former student returning after more than one year, follow the steps below to get started. For more detailed step-by-step processes, including a student checklist and resources, visit Welcome to Craven Community College!
Step 1: Complete the Residency Determination (RDS) interview process
Step 2: Submit your application for admission to the college – view How to Create Your CFNC Account (video)
Step 3: Apply for financial aid by completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)
Step 4: Submit official copies of your transcripts from all that apply. View our Transcripts page for instructions.
Step 5: Check your email (including your spam, junk, and promotions folders). In the days after submitting your application, Admissions Specialists will contact you with important information regarding the status of your application and any next steps you need to take.
Once all Admissions steps are complete, you will receive an email with your Student Account information, including your username, email, and seven-digit Student ID.
If you do not receive an email from Admissions within three business days of submitting your application, please email or call us at 252-638-7430.
Step 6: Attend New Student Orientation. All new students must attend an orientation session in order to register for courses for their first semester or term. While we encourage all new students to attend the in-person orientation if it is offered, an online orientation is available.
Step 7: Once you have received your Student Account information, meet with an academic advisor to:
- Discuss placement testing (if needed)
- Plan your schedule
- Register for classes
Visit our Advising page for more information on how to connect with an academic advisor.
