Congratulations to Our 2014 Graduates!
Commencement will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014 on the New Bern Campus at 9 a.m. Graduates are required to assemble in the Student Center no later than 8:15 a.m. for robing, line-up, and additional instructions. There will be a reception for graduates and their guests in the Student Center immediately following the commencement ceremony.
Inclement Weather
In the event of inclement weather, commencement may be delayed or postponed on graduation day. Please check the college main web page at www.cravencc.edu for an announcement by 6 a.m. on the morning of the ceremony, or call 638-7200 to hear a recorded announcement.
Parking Information
General parking for students and visitors will be available in the Student lot in front of Brock. Handicap parking will be available in the Visitors lot adjacent to the Brock Administration building.
Anyone who will be dropped off for graduation must use the Mary Bender parking lot.
Rehearsal
Rehearsal will be held Friday, May 16 on the New Bern campus lawn adjacent to the Student Center. In case there is inclement weather, rehearsal will be held in Orringer Auditorium. Attendance is required! If an emergency prevents you from attending, please contact Yuko Boyd in the Registrar Office 252-638-7229 so that a place will be reserved for you in the lineup. Graduates should arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. for the lineup. We will start promptly at 9 a.m. and finish by 11 a.m.
In case of inclement weather, the commencement rehearsal will be held in Orringer Auditorium.
Luncheon
Immediately following rehearsal, the Craven Community College Student Government Association will sponsor a luncheon at the Student Center on the New Bern campus for all participating graduates.
Caps and Gowns (Regalia)
Caps and gowns can be purchased at the New Bern campus bookstore (Business and Technology Building).

CAPS ARE TO BE WORN STRAIGHT ON THE HEAD – NOT TILTED!
The front point is to be in the center of your forehead. Tassels are placed on your right side. Men should remove their caps during the National Anthem.
Dress
Women should wear lightweight attire (slacks, dresses, skirts and blouses), and shoes. Men should also wear lightweight attire (pants, shirts and ties), and shoes.
Diplomas
Degrees, diplomas, and certificates will be mailed to graduates within three weeks after the commencement.
Alcohol Policy
In accordance with college policy, alcoholic beverages are forbidden on college property. In addition, if any student is deemed to have consumed alcohol, or an illegal, controlled substance prior to the commencement ceremony, that student will not be permitted to participate.
