This course prepares students to provide massage therapy for all clients including special populations. During this 660-hour course, students obtain a strong foundation in Swedish massage and therapeutic deep tissue work. In addition to the hands-on applications, students are taught basic anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, somatic psychology, assessment skills, business management, and ethics. This course includes a clinical component where students will gain experience working directly with clients. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx). After a passing score on the MBLEx, students will be able to apply for licensure with the North Carolina Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy and begin their professional career as a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist (LMBT).
