Our Health Information Technology (HIT) program has certain application requirements and deadlines. Admission requirements into the HIT program include the following:
- General Admission to Craven Community College must be completed before applying for the Health Information Technology program
- Math – Must complete all developmental requisites to be eligible for MAT 152 and BIO 163
- English – Must complete all developmental requisites to be eligible for ENG 111
- Prior to beginning PPEs, students must submit a completed physical examination form signed by a licensed physician and documentation of immunizations
- Clinical facilities require criminal background checks and drug screening. Any expenses associated with these requirements are the responsibility of the student. Pending the outcome, clinical facilities may deny a student the opportunity to complete the clinical portion of the program. A student who is unable to complete the clinical portion of the program will be dismissed from the program
Application Information
Applications are available from February to the end of June each year. Accepted applicants will begin the program in August.
Application steps include:
- Fill out a general admission application to Craven Community College. Once you have filled out a general admission application, follow the instructions that you receive in a return email from Admissions to confirm your intent to enroll. You will receive a letter from the Admissions staff with your Craven Community College student ID number and instructions for accessing your student email and Self Service, Craven’s student web portal
- Complete the Health Information Technology online application
