Congratulations, Class of 2025!

Craven Community College's 58th annual commencement ceremony will be held on Friday, May 16, at 9 a.m. on the New Bern campus. The ceremony will include all graduates, including students from the Havelock campus and the early colleges. Following the commencement ceremony, graduates and their guests are invited to gather outside Ward Hall, where light refreshments will be available.

Commencement Information for Students

Eligible graduates will receive an invitation via email with details about the ceremony and how to register. If you have not received this email by April 1, please contact the Student Records/Registrar’s Office at 252-633-0196 or studentrecords@cravencc.edu to ensure you are registered to attend.

Graduation regalia, including caps and gowns, will be available for purchase in the campus bookstore, located in Bate Hall on the New Bern campus - stay tuned for the date. Stay connected with us on social media and check your student email for important updates.

Rehearsal

Rehearsal will take place on Thursday, May 15, on the New Bern campus lawn adjacent to Ward Hall. Attendance is required.

Graduates must check in at the attendance and information verification table located at the front entrance of Ward Hall. After checking in, graduates will line up at the rear of Ward Hall in the area between Ward and Kelso Hall. The rehearsal processional will begin promptly at 9 a.m.

Job Fair

Immediately following rehearsal, graduates are invited to explore career opportunities and meet potential employers at the job fair, sponsored by Craven Community College, NC Works, and local employers. The job fair will be held in Ward Hall.

Breakfast

Breakfast will be catered by The Flame and hosted by the Student Government Association, available to graduates immediately following the rehearsal.

Livestream

The graduation ceremony on Friday, May 16, at 9 a.m. will be livestreamed. Direct links will be posted here when available. You can also follow us on Facebook or subscribe to our YouTube channel to receive notifications when the stream is live.

Parking

Craven CC Security will direct all traffic to designated parking areas on graduation day. Due to expected high traffic, we encourage you to arrive early.

Alcohol Policy

In accordance with college policy, alcoholic beverages are prohibited on college property. Any student found to have consumed alcohol or an illegal controlled substance prior to the commencement ceremony will not be permitted to participate.

Graduation

Students who meet all requirements for a certificate, diploma, or degree are eligible to graduate. Credentials are awarded at the end of the term in which the requirements are completed and mailed to the student within 6 to 8 weeks after we have certified that all requirements have been completed. A graduation application is required to graduate.

Commencement

Graduates are invited to participate in a formal commencement ceremony held each May on the Craven Community College New Bern campus. This ceremony is open to all graduates from the current academic year.

  • Registration is required to participate in the commencement ceremony.
     
  • To be eligible, students must complete all coursework and graduation requirements by the summer of the graduation year and be within three courses of meeting graduation requirements.

Graduation applications will be accepted after the foregoing deadlines; however, there may be a delay in processing your application and mailing your credentials. In addition, if you wish to participate in the graduation ceremony, because of the planning involved, the College cannot guarantee your participation in the graduation ceremony if your application is received after March 14, 2025.
