Powered industrial lift equipment requires trained, confident operators to ensure safe and efficient jobsite operations. This 16-Hour Lull Extender Lift course provides comprehensive training on the safe operation, load handling, and hazard awareness associated with telescopic handlers. Participants will gain the skills needed to operate equipment responsibly while supporting OSHA compliance and reducing workplace risk. This course provides instruction aligned with OSHA 1910 and 1926 Powered Industrial Truck and Material Handling Equipment standards. Training includes equipment components and controls, stability principles, load capacity and load charts, proper inspection procedures, safe traveling and lifting techniques, jobsite hazard recognition, and operator responsibilities. Hands-on instruction reinforces safe operating practices for real-world jobsite conditions.

This training meets the requirements of OSHA 1926 Subpart X (Construction - Stairways and Ladders) and OSHA 1910 (General Industry - Fall Protection). Instruction includes identifying and eliminating fall hazards; proper use of fall protection systems such as tripods and winches, full-body harnesses, lanyards, and connection devices; and ladder safety fundamentals. Participants will learn when ladder use is required, how to select and inspect ladders, proper ladder setup, and safe mounting, ascending, and descending techniques.

Core topics may include warehousing, inventory control, material handling, global logistics, operations management, software systems, safety/security, and the movement and storage of goods from raw materials sources to end consumers. The Aviation Maintenance course is designed to prepare individuals with civilian or military experience for the Federal Aviation Certification of Airframe and Power Plant Technician. Coupling classroom discussions and shop exercises, the individual will become competent in the Airframe phase of Certification in F.A.A. Regulated Aircraft Maintenance.

This course is conducted by the Cape Lookout Squadron of the United States Power Squadrons. It will provide basic boating knowledge education, including both Federal and North Carolina State required education. A traditional classroom education format will be used. Learning is facilitated with use of the America’s Boating Course student manual (included in cost), nautical teaching aids, and supportive PowerPoint (PPT) visual aids. The 16-hour program spans two Saturdays, beginning at 8 am and ending at 4 pm. Instruction gives you the basics you need to enjoy your time on the water safely and includes navigation, nautical charts, digital charting, and chart plotting. This format meets the standards set by the American National Standards Institute (ANSI) and the National Association of Boating Law Administrators (NASBLA).

Together, participants will prepare three classic dishes: Chicken Paprikash, a comforting braised chicken seasoned with sweet paprika; homemade Spaetzle, tender noodle dumplings; and a decadent Hazelnut Torte filled with a creamy hazelnut filling. After cooking, enjoy the meal together and take home the recipes to recreate these timeless favorites in your own kitchen. Participants should bring an apron.
