Academic Success Coach

We understand that college courses can be difficult. That's why we have Academic Success Coaches who can serve as a guide and mentor when you're facing challenges in your academic journey. Our Academic Success Coaches can provide:

  1. Personalized Guidance: They offer individualized support tailored to your unique needs. They take the time to understand your specific challenges and obstacles.
  2. Goal Setting and Action Planning: They work collaboratively with you to set realistic academic goals and develop actionable plans to achieve them. These plans often involve breaking down larger objectives into smaller, manageable tasks.
  3. Monitoring Progress and Accountability: They continuously monitor your progress and provide regular feedback and encouragement. They hold you accountable for your commitments, helping you stay on track even when faced with setbacks or obstacles.
  4. Resource Referral and Support: They connect you with relevant resources and support services available within the college, such as tutoring centers, academic workshops, counseling services, or disability support services.
  5. Skill Development: They help you develop essential academic skills such as time management, study techniques, note-taking strategies, and exam preparation. By strengthening these foundational skills, you will be better equipped to succeed academically in the short and long term.
  6. Motivational Support and Encouragement: They provide encouragement and motivation, especially during times of uncertainty, frustration, or self-doubt.
  7. Communication Liaison: They act as a bridge between you, your instructors, and other relevant college employees. They facilitate communication and collaboration, ensuring that instructors are aware of your progress and challenges, and vice versa.
  8. Holistic Support: Beyond academics, they can also provide holistic support, addressing your personal and emotional wellbeing. They recognize that academic success is often intertwined with factors such as mental health, stress management, and work-life balance.
