ENGINEERING CAMP

Craven CC, in partnership with the Eastern Carolina Aviation Heritage Foundation, will be offering week-long, non-residential summer day camps for middle school and high school students on the college's Havelock campus. The camps will be led by local STEM teachers in partnership with engineering staff from Fleet Readiness Center East and NC State University. Limited scholarships may be available for students with demonstrated financial need. Virtual registration is available.
FULL STEAM AHEAD

Delve into Science, Technology, Engineering, Art, and Math (STEAM) in this week of fun and engaging hands-on activities. Participants will explore solar painting, creating soap-powered boats, designing and building a space lander, making ice cream, shooting Alka-Seltzer rockets, experiencing virtual reality, and much more. Join us for fun in the lab while we develop new skills and improve our creativity along the way!

CREATIVE HANDS

Learn how to make fun, creative creatures and other ceramic pieces using pinch, roll, and other hand-building techniques. Pieces will come to life as young potters learn to glaze and fire their work. Campers will take home their works of art to provide lasting memories.*
GLAZED AND AMAZED
Rising 6th-8th graders

Learn how to make bowls and other ceramic pieces using pinch, roll, and other hand-building techniques. Potters will learn to glaze and fire their work, and will take home their works of art to provide lasting memories.*
JUNIOR MAD SCIENTIST
Rising 3rd-5th graders
July 31-August 4 • $125
8:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Learn how to operate a rubber band cannon, then discover how the distance and path of a projectile varies with potential energy, projectile weight, and angle of launch. Campers will apply what they learn by playing rubber band cannon battleship and rubber band cannon golf! Other activities include: paper airplanes, physics of music, slime and polymers, gross-ology, magnets, crystal formation, engines, gravity, and more.
*Since the pottery won’t be done in time for campers to take home at the end of camp, parents and campers are invited to attend a Student Art Show on Thursday, August 10 from 5 to 6 p.m.
