Craven Community College is one of the 58 community colleges in the North Carolina Community College System (NCCCS). We operate according to and in compliance with the Community College Laws of North Carolina and consistent with the rules set forth by the State Board of Community Colleges.
The NCCCS serves as a resource agency and administrative arm of the State Board. Their administrative offices are located in Raleigh.
The System Office provides support services and technical assistance for the 58 community colleges and is under the direction of the System President, who is appointed by the State Board. The System Office also provides other services that would be difficult for an individual institution to address, such as statewide data collection and reporting.
Visit the NCCCS website for additional information.
State Board of Community Colleges
The State of North Carolina has assigned the 58 public community colleges to the State Board of Community Colleges with full authority to adopt all policies, regulations, and standards deemed necessary for operation of the NCCCS.
The State Board is responsible for the equitable distribution of funds and fiscal accountability, establishing state priorities and approving educational programs within the system.
Small Business Center
Our Small Business Center is part of the Small Business Center Network (SBCN) and is among 58 centers located at community colleges throughout North Carolina. The SBCN is part of the North Carolina Community College System.
