Tim Outman works to capture the beautiful lines of the human form. He sees his interaction with the material similar to a dance. "I am fascinated by the juxtaposition of balance and movement. By creating a cantilevered form, delicate yet strong, I try to abstract the human form to its essential elements. There are points of connection, as in life, resulting from holding on and letting go. The challenge is knowing when to allow either of these to occur.”

Tim Outman hails from Madras, Oregon. He is a sculptor who creates abstract, figurative representations of the human form. Outman works with bronze and creates high polished finishes and heat applied patinas. His work is regularly exhibited at galleries in Las Vegas and Seattle.

His sculpture ranges from portraiture to abstract figurative. In the figurative work I try to capture the beauty and gestures of the human form. In general, he casts his work in bronze but, as with this work, he also carves stone. Visit his artist website here.
