As a Colorado native, Budish studied sculpture at the Art Students League of Denver and the Loveland Academy of Fine Arts, as well as participating in ISC (International Sculpture Center) workshops at the Art Institute of Chicago.
For large, life-sized, and monumental works, Budish prefers to sculpt in low, or high density foam. He then applies clay to the surface, before creating a mold and casting in bronze via the lost wax method.
"I felt that I wanted to create my own new and unique direction in representing the human form and the forms of the multitude of special creatures surrounding us, exploring the unique attitude, emotion and personality of each, while attempting to capture the 'Joie de Vivre' that I believe is 'lurking' somewhere inside all of us.” Visit his artist website here.
