In a continuous effort to meet the needs of our growing community, Craven Community College has undertaken several construction projects over the past few years. We will post periodic updates here as our campuses evolve.


Corporate Training Center

The Corporate Training Center will be located on our New Bern campus between Kelso Hall and Bate Hall. It will primarily be used for professional development as a flexible meeting space to conduct trainings or host educational meetings and seminars. This one-story building will consist of a large meeting space and several office spaces. It will allow for larger class sizes to meet or spread out if necessary.

  • Seats 536 people without tables
  • Seats 260 people with lecture tables
  • Seats 248 people at five-foot round tables
  • One large meeting space with ability to break up into five rooms
  • Four offices
  • Conference room
  • Catering kitchen

Approval for this project was granted by the North Carolina State Construction Office on July 21, 2023. The anticipated completion date is February 2026. The college is working closely on this project with Waters Contracting Company and JKF Architecture.

Public Safety Training Center

The Public Safety Training Center, a state-supported $12 million initiative, will be located at the Craven County Industrial Park. It will serve as a premier regional hub for training firefighters, law enforcement, EMS, and other first responders across Eastern North Carolina.

The 31-acre facility will feature state-of-the-art resources including a combined burn building and drill tower, indoor firearms range, driving pad, and more, addressing critical workforce needs in emergency services.

Approval for this project was granted by the North Carolina State Construction Office on March 15, 2024. The anticipated completion date is early 2027. The college is working closely on this project with Daniels & Daniels Construction Company and The Walker Group Architecture, Inc.

A groundbreaking ceremony will be held Monday, Nov. 3 at 4 p.m. at 501 Executive Parkway, New Bern.
