Craven Community College's Campus Life team and Student Veterans Association (SVA) will host a September 11th Tribute on the New Bern Campus. This time of remembrance will be an opportunity for all students, staff, and community members to honor the lives lost 23 years ago on 9/11. Attendees and participants are invited to meet in the Congleton Courtyard, located between Ward Hall and Brock Administration, for the ceremony.
The program will begin at 9 a.m. with a welcome from SVA president Logan Previglian. Philly Solano, Veterans Affairs Coordinator and SVA club advisor, will introduce the speaker, Shane Naber from the New Bern Fire Department. Naber is a Navy veteran who served during the events of Sept. 11, 2001.
A brief moment of silence will follow, and then a trumpet solo of "Taps" will be played by Bill Green of NCWorks. Attendees will then be given American flags to place at the New Bern campus entrances.
