Scholarships and funding opportunities are available to most students. Public Safety students (fire, EMS, paramedic, law enforcement) may be eligible for 100% fee waivers after registering for classes. This course prepares students to provide massage therapy for all clients including special populations. During this 660-hour course, students obtain a strong foundation in Swedish massage and therapeutic deep tissue work. In addition to the hands-on applications, students are taught basic anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, somatic psychology, assessment skills, business management, and ethics. This course includes a clinical component where students will gain experience working directly with clients. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx). After a passing score on the MBLEx, students will be able to apply for licensure with the North Carolina Board of Massage & Bodywork Therapy and begin their professional career as a Licensed Massage & Bodywork Therapist (LMBT).

This certification-related course in victim management will present the Technical Rescuer (TR) with proper methods for the movement of patients from a hazardous situation while focusing on the safety and well-being of the patients and rescuers. Stabilizing the situation, gaining access, packaging, and removal patients from vehicle rescue incidents will be emphasized in this course. This course should be offered consistent with the most current NC Fire and Rescue Commission guidelines. Contact the Office of State Fire Marshal (OSFM) for details. Reference: NFPA 1006 Chapter 10.

Designed for scouts, scout leaders, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who works or spends time in remote environments. This course teaches advanced skills to be used in emergencies when help from Emergency Medical Personnel may be too far away. This course is open to adults & youth (age 16 & up). A CPR/AED certificate is required but can be provided during the course.You will receive a Wilderness First Aid certification and CPR/AED if applicable.
