NCCER Carpentry Core Skills

Our NCCER Carpentry Core Skills training provides instruction related to the core skills used by carpenters in residential and commercial settings. Topics include safety, hand/power tool use, site preparation, measurement and layout, footings and foundations, construction framing, and other related topics. Upon completion, students should be able to construct, erect, install, or repair structures and fixtures made of wood, such as concrete forms; building frameworks, including partitions, joists, studding, and rafters; wood stairways, window and door frames; and hardwood floors.
