If you’re looking to enter the workforce without going through an entire degree program, this short-term course is a great choice. It will introduce you to the knowledge and skills needed to enter and excel in the construction field.
This program is broken down into topics including: orientation to the trade; building materials, fasteners, and adhesives; hand and power tools; introduction to construction drawings, specifications, and layout; floor systems; wall systems; ceiling joist and roof framing; basic stair layout; introduction to building envelope systems. Upon successfully completing this 305-hour program, you’ll receive National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) certification in Level 1 Carpentry for the Core and Drywall.

Students will be introduced to light construction building trades. Safety, tools, carpentry, masonry, cabinetry, drywall, building codes and inspections and energy efficiency will be covered.
