Have you always wanted to learn French? English owes nearly half of its vocabulary to French, so you’ll be able to recognize many words without realizing it! This course introduces the French language to adult learners and is conducted in dual French and English over the course of 12 weeks. Sessions include learning techniques with the adult in mind, relying on words common to both French and English. You will practice conversations and selecting the right expressions for personal needs for travel, business, friendship, and culture.
French is a fun language to learn and is one of the most internationally significant romance languages in the world. It is spoken across five continents and has official language status in 29 countries. The benefits of learning French are innumerable - find your reason to learn this beautiful and useful language!

About the Community Enrichment Program

The Community Enrichment Program (CEP) at Craven Community College provides a diverse array of non-credit, short-term, and affordable courses. Classes are open to anyone who wants to keep learning while having fun! Topics offered are based on community input and range in skill levels from beginner to advanced. Classes can take place in one session or span several weeks. Please note: CEP classes cannot be used for credit toward any of our degree programs.

Students may receive a full refund if a CEP class is canceled by Craven CC prior to the start date, or the student withdraws from the class before the start date. Complete details about CEP refunds are available in the Workforce Development section of the academic catalog.
