In partnership with CarolinaEast, we now offer Environmental Services (EVS)/Housekeeping training. This course is designed to expose students to the requirements of serving as an EVS/Housekeeping employee in the hospital environment. While many cleaning procedures may be the same as working in other high-traffic settings, there are requirements and regulations that are unique to working in a healthcare environment. Additionally, this course will focus on soft skills that will ensure an employee knows what the expectations are for working in the hospital environment.
Students will receive periods of instructions in dress code, uniform requirements, call-out procedures, time management, communication skills, working in a team environment, and being a team player. Additionally, students will receive exposure to Hazardous Communication Standards, Personal Protective Equipment, Blood-Borne Pathogens, and controlling exposure to contaminants and contagions. Lastly, students will be exposed to the expectation of cleanliness in a sterile healthcare environment. Upon completion, students should have job-seeking and job-keeping skills as an EVS/Housekeeping employee in a healthcare environment. There are no certifications or licensures awarded in this 64-hour course.
This class is offered to students at no cost (fees are waived). Contact us for details and to register.
