CFC/EPA Certification

Course Code: SEF-EPACERT

This short-term class allows you to earn the certifications that enable you to purchase coolants for small appliances and refrigerant/cooling systems. The instructor will lead discussions and presentations of certification materials, including a pretest. The state examination, or online ESCO test, is administered during class.

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) is a division of the United States government and sets the standards for all heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems. EPA regulations under Section 608 of the Clean Air Act require that technicians who maintain, service, repair, or dispose of equipment that could release refrigerants into the atmosphere must be certified.
