Law firm specializing in criminal law, civil litigation, personal injury law, and family law is looking to expand and add another Spanish/English bilingual legal assistant to its firm. Must be proficient in speaking, listening, reading, and writing Spanish.

Responsibilities:

  • Staff multiple phone lines, take messages and redirect calls when appropriate; use texting, billing, and case management software where appropriate
  • Provide administrative support to multiple lawyers and paralegals
  • Handle extensive client contact via phone, email, text, and in-person in English and Spanish
  • Conduct initial screenings of clients and facilitate electronic intakes
  • Open, maintain, and close client files electronically
  • Execute and follow-up on client billing and accounts and meticulous documentation of communications
  • Prepare and manage multiple calendars, provide timely reminders to attorneys and staff, and ensure deadlines are met
  • Work effectively with a diverse group of clients
  • Take files to clerks and courthouses and other errands as needed

Qualifications:

  • Must be fluent in Spanish and English
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both Spanish and English
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately under pressure
  • Highly organized with ability to juggle multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong project management and organizational skills, focused attention on detail, completed follow-up on tasks, and the ability to work independently on projects with minimal supervision
  • Proficient technology skills, including, but not limited to, Microsoft Word, Dropbox, Google Calendar, and Apple iOS preferred. Technology literacy and willingness to learn new practice technologies and software is required.
  • Ability to manage confidential information and sensitive situations with tact and discretion and comply with confidentiality requirements
  • A valid driver's license and good driving record is required as use of firm's vehicles may be required.
  • Company dress code requires business casual/professional attire.
