Andrew Mung: Making a World of Difference

Andrew Mung is a perfect example of someone who has found benefit in every area of Craven Community College programs.

As a Burmese refugee that came to the United States in 2010, Andrew enrolled in the Basic Skills English as a Second Language program. After completing ESL, his goal was to continue in Basic Skills by earning his high school equivalency. Mung succeeded and was quickly enrolled in curriculum classes where he completed his associate degree in Business Administration in May.

During his first year of college classes, Mung took a break to enter the Workforce Development Real Estate Brokerage course where he earned his license. When asked what led to this change of direction, he stated that he felt a strong desire to help other refugees that come to this country who are interested in buying a home so that they would better understand the process.

Throughout Mung’s educational experiences at Craven CC, he has worked full time at Moen. Since receiving his brokerage license, he works during the day selling real estate and during the evening at Moen. Amazingly, he continued his education adding to an already full plate. While excited about graduating in May, he plans on attending university at a later date.

Mung is without a doubt a dedicated student who has found success throughout the entire college’s programs.
