Craven Community College (Craven CC) is currently registering new and returning students for B-Term through Oct. 17. Classes for the condensed eight-week semester begin Oct. 18.

B-Term classes offer the same number of credits and coursework as traditional semesters but in a reduced timeframe, providing students the opportunity to balance school on top of career and family obligations. It’s also a great opportunity for recent high school graduates to start on the college track.

“We offer several start dates for semesters throughout the school year, so it’s never too late to register for classes at Craven,” said Associate Vice President for Students Zomar Peter. “B-Term gives students the option to take courses on their terms and complete them quicker than traditional 12-week semesters.”

Craven CC has numerous options for students seeking more traditional degrees such as the Associate in Arts, Associate in Science, Association in Fine Arts, and Associate in Teacher Preparation, as well as many transfer opportunities to four-year institutions through partnerships with ECU, NC State University, NC Wesleyan University, UNC-Chapel Hill, and more.

“Our variety of program offerings allows students to pursue an associate degree, transfer to a four-year university, or simply earn credits on their own time,” said Peter. “Many classes are available in a seated, online, or hybrid format for added flexibility.”

There are also many selections for students who are seeking career and technical degree programs, many of which are also offered as certificates and diplomas. In addition, the college’s Volt Center campus offers various short-term, skilled trades programs for those interested in entering the workforce.

Academic, admissions, and financial aid advisors are available each weekday to assist students with the application and financial aid processes. Students can receive help with applying for scholarships and finding an academic path that meets their career goals.

Students can register at the New Bern or Havelock campus Monday through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m. Current students can go online and use Self-Service to view the current class listing and register.

For more information on B-Term registration, contact the New Bern campus at 252-638-7200, Havelock campus at 252-444-6005, or visit cravencc.edu.
