The Pirate Promise program is a partnership between Craven Community College and East Carolina University. Entry to this program guarantees admission to transfer as a junior to ECU upon completing an associate degree from Craven CC.
In order to apply a student must be enrolled in one of five associate degree programs, including associates in science, art, fine arts, engineering, or the AAS tract in early childhood education. The student must be enrolled full time (12 credit hours or more), unless the student is in early college or career and college promise. If the student is still in high school they are exempt from this, but must be in 11th or 12th grade to apply. The student needs to maintain a 2.5 GPA.
Qualifications
- Take 12 or more credit hours per semester (Fall/Spring)
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA
- Verification process each semester
- Complete your Associate Degree
- CCP and Early College students are eligible (11th/12th)
This is not a scholarship, but it does grant extensive advising, trips, discount on athletic tickets, access to ECU libraries, and participation in select ECU activities prior to the student’s enrollment at ECU. This gives the students a familiarity with the campus and school before transferring and completing their bachelor’s degree.
