When you complete the 1,528 clock hour program, you’ll be prepared to take the North Carolina Board of Barbering Examiners exam to qualify as an apprentice. The 1528 Clock hours are completed over 3 to 4 terms/courses. Scholarships are available.

Would you like to learn to defend yourself from physical attack? This class will teach you some principles from Thailand’s national sport, Muay Thai, the art of 8 limbs. You will learn basic striking fundamentals and techniques. This practice has been known to boost confidence in and out of the ring, build friendships, and is a fun way to improve your cardio and balance while strengthening your body and mind.

Students will learn the basic concepts, skills and techniques of cake decorating. Emphasis is place on icing, fondants borders, design and flowers using piping techniques. This 4-week, 1.5-hour beginner course will cover proper grips, all strokes, and the basic knowledge of the game. Learn how to rally, volley, serve, and hit overheads. Tennis sneakers (smooth soles) required. No running shoes permitted.

Students who complete this 139-hour BioWork Certificate course will gain the basic skills and general knowledge needed for entry-level process technicians in Bioprocessing, Pharmaceutical, and Chemical Manufacturing. The course includes the following 8 modules: Pharmaceutical Quality & cGMP Working Safely Measuring Process Parameters Chemical Processes in Biomanufacturing Equipment and Utilities Unit Operations and Process Control Facilities and the Manufacturing Environment Biomanufacturing Production. You will complete one unit per week in this course is an 8-week online course. Labs will be done at home with a lab kit to be purchased separately. Labs will be recorded and posted online for reference. An optional hands-on in-person lab may also be scheduled for those who are interested. This course will also cover several aspects of the job search process, including navigating and understanding search engines, both government and civilian resume preparation, and cover letters. Gain the basic skills and general knowledge needed to begin a career as a Process Technician for a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing company. A process technician operates, monitors, and controls the production process; receives, transports, and stores materials; collects and analyzes materials used in production; inspects and maintains the production equipment and control systems; keeps critical records on the process and product; and maintains company safety, health, and environmental standards. This course will also cover all aspects of the job search process, resume preparation, and interviewing practice. Lecture and assignments will be in-person and labs will be hands-on one night per week. Prerequisites: High school diploma or equivalent. The National Career Readiness Certificate completion is encouraged. 136 hours.
