Scholarships and funding opportunities are available to most students. Public Safety students (fire, EMS, paramedic, law enforcement) may be eligible for 100% fee waivers after registering for classes. Attendees will be oriented with a variety of topics involved with investigating a Sexual Assault/Child Abuse (SACA) case including: . The importance of investigating a SACA for the growth and development of the survivor/victim . How collaborative efforts of a multi-disciplinary team can promote a survivor/victim and potentially protect future survivors/victims . Why involving other professional entities progress a SACA case through the judicial system . What effects biases and pre-determined assumptions have on an investigation and the people involved . How SACA investigations cause long-term problems for investigators and effective stress management tools to overcome those problems This class was designed to address unspoken issues with investigating SACA cases. It will promote the confidence of the attendees and allow them to conduct more thorough and effective investigations. It will provide them the tools necessary to influence all who are involved in SACA investigations.

The student will learn how to completely disassemble engines and check for manufacturer’s specifications and reassemble. Emphasis will be placed on the proper use of special tools and testing equipment. Upon completion students will be able to explain operating principles of engines, name major parts of engines, work safely in the shop, explain how force work and torque are related to horsepower, define horsepower, list and explain combustion chamber designs, properly run rack, time injectors, adjust values, and adjust governors.

This course provides students a comprehensive study of perioperative care and preparation, patient care concepts, and professional practice concepts within the field of surgical technology. Topics include medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, microbiology, pharmacology, anesthesia, environmental safety, communication and reporting, instrumentation, physical environment, equipment, surgical procedures, patient safety, sterile technique, and surgical team support. Upon completion, students should be able to apply theoretical knowledge of the course topics to the practice of surgical technology. This course provides a comprehensive study of surgical procedures and specialties that coincide with clinical rotations. This course prepares students to provide massage therapy for all clients including special populations. During this 660-hour course, students obtain a strong foundation in Swedish massage and therapeutic deep tissue work. In addition to the hands-on applications, students are taught basic anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, pathology, somatic psychology, assessment skills, business management, and ethics. This course includes a clinical component where students will gain experience working directly with clients. Upon successful completion of this course, students will be eligible to take the Massage & Bodywork Licensing Examination (MBLEx).
