Scholarships and funding opportunities are available to most students. Public Safety students (fire, EMS, paramedic, law enforcement) may be eligible for 100% fee waivers after registering for classes. The Basic Hydraulics training course covers hydraulic principles of mechanical maintenance, types of hydraulic fluids and their characteristics. Describes components of the hydraulic system and their functions for maintenance procedures, including filters and strainers, reservoirs and accumulators, pumps, piping, tubing and hoses, control valves, relief valves, and actuating devices. This hydraulics course covers a variety of cylinders and training on hydraulic system components. This course has no prerequisites.

This 4-week, 1.5-hour intermediate course is for the tennis player who has played for at least 2 years in social or USTA intermediate drills or leagues. Our hands-on curriculum will teach you the technical skills and customer service needed to work as a professional bartender. Learn the skills and techniques on how to mix, pour, and serve popular drinks and cocktails, as well as customer service, bar setup and other hospitality skill basics. Graduates will also receive their Craven Community College (Craven CC) bartender certification as well as the Responsible Alcohol Seller/Server Program (RASP) Certification from the ABC Board. Mah Jongg is a tile-based game using strategies and rules similar to rummy. Although the game originated in China, we will be playing athe American version of Mah Jongg. We will learn and follow the National Hah Jongg League rules and table etiquette. Mah Jongg is enjoying a resurgence of popularity since its introduction into early 20th century American homes. There are many groups of Mah Jongg players in the New Bern area. Once you master the game basics and table etiquette, you will be ready to join them for hours of fun and competition!

The MA to NA Bridge Course is a 6-week program for certified Medical Assistants who wish to apply to the Practical Nursing (PN) program but lack Nursing Aide I certification. This course addresses the skills gap between medical and nursing assistants, allowing successful completers to apply for the Practical Nursing program at Craven Community College without Nurse Aide 1 certification. Note: This course does not qualify participants for the NC state Nurse Aide competency exam or listing on the state registry.
