The State of North Carolina requires medical residential facilities to have recreational activities for residents. In this course, you’ll learn how to lead these programs through lecture and hands-on activities. Class completion plus 25 volunteer hours at an assisted living or nursing home will be required to complete this program.

This course is designed to provide additional training to individuals working as Activity Director in a health-related setting. Each student enrolled in this section is expected to attend all the meeting times and location listed below. The online work may be done anytime during the week, and the number of hours listed indicate how much time a student should anticipate it taking to complete the online assignments each week. Courses with both classroom and clinical components, have additional times listed for the clinical dates, which are located off campus.
