Clubs and Organizations

Student Clubs and Organizations

Craven CC Clubs at the Student Resource FairJoin other Craven CC students in one of our recognized clubs or organizations or make your own! Research shows that students that get involved and stay active in extra-curricular activities are more likely to graduate on time, be prepared for life after college, and thrive in their personal and professional lives after graduation. What are you waiting for?!

Difference between a Club and an Organization

Clubs
student groups with a defined purpose that are maintained and run by the students themselves. Clubs must enlist a staff or faculty advisor and have at least 8 currently enrolled student members. Clubs have to submit or comply with the Recognition Process to be considered active (Active Student Club/Organization Form, Club Constitution/Bylaws, Social Media Administrator and Conduct form, Student Club/Organization Roster, and Club Advisor Contract) to be considered a recognized club. All clubs report to the Office of Campus Life and must register on an annual basis. If a club maintains recognized status and is an active participant in student life they may be eligible for seed money. Clubs are required to abide by the policies in the Campus Life Handbook and the Student Handbook to maintain recognized status and club privileges.

Organizations
Organizations are often recognized nationally or internationally and/or are sponsored by specific departments of the College. Organizations must communicate and register with the Office of Campus Life for planning and record keeping purposes, but are not subject to approval by Campus Life. Organizations are often honors societies and have national/international member GPA and academic requirements.
