This one-day course will help refresh offers’ skills in the practical applications associated with Standardized Field Sobriety Testing (SFST). The SFST is a battery of three tests performed during a traffic stop in order to determine if a driver is impaired. The tests include the horizontal gaze nystagmus, the walk-and-turn, and the one-leg stand. Developed in the 1970s, these tests are scientifically validated and are admissible as evidence in court in a majority of states.

The Post 302 – Contracts and Closings course is one of the three 30-instructional hour courses in the North Carolina mandatory postlicensing education program. The primary objective of the courses is to provide instruction at a level beyond that provided in prelicensing courses on topics deemed to be of special importance in the active practice of real estate brokerage.

This 8-hour course meets the training requirements of 29 CFR 1910.178. You will receive training on forklift operations, review of standards, truck controls, vehicle stability, vehicle capacity, compositions of loads, and much more to keep you safe and effective in your forklift work. This training includes an operator practical evaluation. Cost includes tuition and insurance fee.

This course is designed to provide training in topics related to legal knowledge or applications, including ethical decision-making. Course topics may include but are not limited to ABC laws and procedures, arrest, search and seizure, Police Law Institute topics, constitutional law, criminal law, juvenile law, ethics, motor vehicle law, civil liability, legal update, nuisance abatement, and gambling and video game machine legal issues.

Phlebotomy, or drawing blood, can be a rewarding career. In this course, you will learn venipuncture, basic lab skills, and prepare for an optional National Healthcareer Association (NHA) certification exam. In addition to class time, the clinical rotation requires a flexible daytime schedule as clinical locations are available. Course cost consists of tuition and supply/insurance fees.

Learn the skills to assist pharmacists in retail and medical practices. Preparation for the national Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) exam is included in the program. This is a hybrid class with mandatory seated and online assignments.

Students who complete our Paramedic certificate program may be eligible to transfer credits into Carteret Community College’s Associate in Applied Science in Emergency Medical Science Bridge degree program.
