Our Grant Writing for Nonprofits course will teach you the basics and get you on your way to writing effective grants! You will learn how to:

Get on the fast track to an interview in this three-day training! The course is designed to expose students to the plastics and composites manufacturing processes. Students will learn what skills are needed for a career in plastics/composites production, as well as what a typical workday looks like in the manufacturing process. Students will also learn how to write a resume, develop interviewing skills, and how to stand out among applicants. All students are guaranteed an interview with Wirthwein.

In partnership with CarolinaEast, we now offer Environmental Services (EVS)/Housekeeping training. This course is designed to expose students to the requirements of serving as an EVS/Housekeeping employee in the hospital environment. While many cleaning procedures may be the same as working in other high-traffic settings, there are requirements and regulations that are unique to working in a healthcare environment. Additionally, this course will focus on soft skills that will ensure an employee knows what the expectations are for working in the hospital environment.

Give yourself a much-needed break from your hectic daily schedule with a relaxing meditation session. Meditation is a natural way of settling your mind to achieve relaxation and a state of calm. It is one of the most practiced ways we can take care of ourselves. In this class, you will learn four different types of mediation. You will then be able to select the type you prefer and have a basis upon which to continue your meditation practice. We use a chair for our practice and will not be using pillows or mats.

Painting with Acrylics is a great start for beginners want to learn the basic principles of painting and the properties of acrylics. The class will cover building a painting, from a primed canvas to a sketch to layering until the piece is complete. Color theory, line, and use of brushstrokes will all be discussed. Each painting will be unique to each artist.

Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Refresher training will cover a jail diversion and de-escalation model of training for law enforcement during which officers gain a better understanding of the needs of individuals with mental illness, substance use disorders, or intellectual/developmental disabilities. The idea is to divert them to treatment when this can be done at little risk to public safety.

If you have a sweet tooth and would like to learn how to make traditional French pastries, this is a great start! This class will show you how to make éclairs and profiteroles filled with pastry cream, chocolate glaze, and a fruit tart with pastry cream.

During the first class you will learn how to prepare pâté à choux (classic French dough) used to make the éclairs and profiteroles, and pâte sucrée (sweetened, enriched short-flake crust) to make the fruit tart.

In this accelerated, short-term program, you will receive a review of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) learning statement guide for Airman Certification, along with hands-on practical skills review in preparation for the FAA written, oral, and practical exams. Course tuition will provide you with online Prepware and use of a study guide during the duration of the class.
