This 16-hour recertification course is designed to re-certify radar operators in the use of radar equipment used by their agencies. The principal methods of instruction are lecture and demonstration. The course includes field practice and testing, both written and practical.

Current certification as probationary or general status as a law enforcement officer and certification as a radar operator within the three years preceding the completion of this course are prerequisites for enrollment. Contact the NC Department of Justice for course standards.

This hands-on class will teach you about the theory of how two- and four-stroke outboard motors operate, as well as how to repair, maintain, and rebuild them. You'll also learn about fuel, ignition, manual and electric starting systems, charging systems, and small gearcase operation and repair.

Would you like to learn how to speak Spanish? Why not learn the fundamentals of the language from a native Spanish speaker? This Spanish language course was created for beginners and follows the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

You will learn basic grammar including present tense (regular, irregular, reflexive, and stem-changing verbs), past tense (Pretérito Indefinitdo), and the difference between saber and conocer. Practice may help you to comfortably:

Our Heavy Truck Systems & Repair program will provide hands-on experience for fleet maintenance technicians, including brakes, exhaust, fuel systems, lighting devices, steering, suspension, frame, tires, wheels and rims, and windshield wipers in cars, trucks, heavy machinery, boats, generators, and more. This class will focus on instruction and training on topics including: transmissions, brakes, axles, electrical, steering, suspension, and HVAC systems on large trucks.

Would you like to learn to defend yourself from physical attack? This class will teach you principles from Thailand’s national sport, Muay Thai, the art of 8 limbs. You will learn basic striking fundamentals and techniques. This practice has been known to boost confidence in and out of the ring, build friendships, and is a fun way to improve your cardio and balance while strengthening your body and mind.

This class is open to all ages and skill levels.

Salmon is a versatile, widely available, and popular fatty fish that is loaded with nutrients. Accessible recipes make eating healthier just a bit easier – and more fun. This class will teach you how to prepare delicious salmon cakes plated on a refreshing watercress salad with a side of roasted baby golden potatoes.

This program will provide diversified maintenance training to students to meet the occupational needs of prospective employers in the surrounding community. Students will learn basic electricity and electronics theory in Direct Current (DC) and Alternating Current (AC), as well as the electrical circuitry used in industrial applications.
