Occupational Summary
The Marketing and Communications Coordinator contributes to the visual identity and brand of the College through the development of visual solutions and content for print and digital media. This position will utilize graphic design, professional communication, and related skills to produce marketing materials that include brochures, flyers, magazines, illustrations, print advertisements, social media content, and signage that convey information precisely and engagingly. The Marketing and Communications Coordinator is responsible for creating content that supports the College’s external and internal communications, which informs diverse audiences of the college’s academic programing and services.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Provides excellent customer service and assistance to internal and external customers through walk-in, telephone, and email
- Develops graphic design promotional materials, including direct mail, postcards, newsletters, flyers, invitations, commercials, videos, billboards, magazine, signage, internal and external announcements, etc.
- Collaborates with staff, faculty, administrators, and students to execute communication and marketing activities including promotional materials, advertising, comprehensive marketing campaigns, multimedia publications, etc.
- Manages and prioritizes marketing requests, design/production schedules, outside vendors, and delivery targets
- Creates and distributes marketing and communication efforts across digital platforms, including newsletters (internal and external), media releases, and social media
- Collaborates with the Marketing and Communications team to develop schedules and content for social media platforms
- Utilizes storytelling, voice and research to create compelling content for website, marketing materials, success stories, speeches, commercial scripts, etc.
- Maintains a HelpDesk license with IT to support content updates related to the college website
- Assists with digital photography, videography and related editing for advertisements, live broadcasts, and campus events
- Assists faculty and staff with developing pre-recorded virtual class lessons, departmental videos to maintain accreditation, virtual team meetings, etc.
- Creates purchase orders and requisitions for office supplies, memberships, and sponsorships
- Completes travel requisitions and reimbursements for the department
- Edits and maintains the College Style Guide and ensures that college design standards are consistently used
- Researches current trends in graphic design and digital marketing
- Assists with the coordination and promotion of special events on campus
- Participates in appropriate committees and task forces as assigned
- Performs other job-related duties and projects as assigned in support of the College’s mission, core values and goals
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Graphic Arts, Design, Marketing or closely related field from a regionally accredited institution of higher learning OR
Two (2) years’ experience in graphic design, marketing, communications, or related field.
Valid NC drivers' license.
Preferred:
Experience with Macintosh, PC, Adobe Creative Cloud, digital photography and videography, live streaming, production switchers, audio equipment, camera equipment and studio lighting.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
