The CDL Passenger Endorsement course will provide you with training to inspect and operate any CMVs, and to assume driving responsibilities on the road. Emphasis is placed on vehicle inspections, defensive driving, range maneuvers, motor carrier safety regulations, trip planning, cargo planning, size/weight laws, general maintenance procedures, and hours of service and accident prevention.

Show some love in a very special way this Mother's Day! Bring your friends and learn how to make a great brunch to honor the mom in your life! You will be guided through the preparation of a crab and asparagus galette with arugula and blueberry salad and lemon vinaigrette.

This is an introductory class where you will learn the mechanics of the game, including bidding and play of hand. This course offers a preparation for play, whether it is duplicate or "kitchen table" bridge. Materials are included, and no previous knowledge of bridge is required.

The class will meet at Grace Anglican Church in New Bern at Fellowship Hall on Thursdays.
 

This class will expand on the basics of American Sign Language (ASL). You will increase your vocabulary, including finger spelling skills and numbers and phrases, and will gain a deeper understanding of useful expressions. This class is appropriate for anyone who has previously taken an introductory ASL class or has equivalent experience using ASL.

Are you interested in capturing beautiful moments and creating lasting memories with your Canon DSLR camera? If so, this introductory class is a great start! You will get an overview of your camera’s settings and tips on how to best use the camera. You will receive an introduction to the basics of photography, elements of composition, focusing, and selecting the proper exposure. Students must bring their own camera to class.

This course is appropriate for entry-level photography enthusiasts who want to learn photography basics and can bring their Canon DSLR camera to class.

Gain the basic skills and general knowledge needed to begin a career as a Process Technician for a biotechnology, pharmaceutical, or chemical manufacturing company. Process technicians work in manufacturing environments and have a wide variety of responsibilities in all stages of the manufacturing process. Tasks may include operating equipment, documenting and analyzing data, monitoring machinery, and improving manufacturing processes. Process technicians also maintain company safety, health, and environmental standards.

This course provides a basic study of the structure and function of the human body. Topics include a basic study of the body systems as well as an introduction to homeostasis, cells, tissues, nutrition, acid-base balance, and electrolytes. Upon completion, students should be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of the fundamental principles of anatomy and physiology.

Our Conversational Spanish 2 class will help you learn to pronounce Spanish words correctly, with emphasis on vowels and certain troublesome consonants for English speakers. The course will address common tag questions and answers, learning kernel sentences with multiple interchangeable suffixes, and vocabulary building of essential nouns, adjectives, and verbs. There will be repetitions and drills of key phrases, as well as the opportunity to learn easy songs in Spanish as a means of increasing Spanish vocabulary.

You'll learn how the food industry operates in the back of house kitchen. You will gain hands-on training with:

  • Food service techniques
  • Food safety
  • Food production basics.

Upon completion you’ll be prepared for employment in restaurants, hotels, catering companies, and health facilities.
