The Death and Life of Sneaky Fitch, by James L. Rosenberg
Ah, an idyllic Western town with all the traditional trimmings: the tough sheriff, the deadly gunslinger, a singing cowboy, the minister, the mortician, and dance hall girls--the town of Gopher Gulch has them all!
But it's spoiled by the presence of Sneaky Fitch, a low-down sneaking coward who won't even tip his hat when he hears someone utter that greatest of phrases: "The Code of the West!"
The town hopes its dreams have come true when Sneaky appears to have finally died... but when he also seems to come back to life at his funeral, mayhem ensues!
