11:30am–12:30pm on Thursday, February 19, 2026
Ward Hall Student Lounge

In recognition of Black History Month, Craven Community College invites students to attend A Shared Dream: Remembering the Past, Envisioning the Future. This engaging program explores how Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision connects to the experiences, goals, and aspirations of today’s generation.

Through music, reflection, and keynote presentations, students will examine the legacy of the Civil Rights Movement while considering what the “dream” means now — and how each generation helps shape its future.

The program will feature performances by the 3CGC Gospel Choir, led by Bonita Simmons, along with keynote speakers Tish Bell, entrepreneur and motivational speaker, and Dr. Darryl Thomas, Principal of New Bern High School.
