NEW BERN – The Craven Community College (Craven CC) Foundation announces recipients of the 15th annual Community Fabric Awards (CFA), an annual event that celebrates leadership excellence in the community. This year’s recipients are Gary Baldree for Individual Leadership, Robinson & Stith Insurance for Business Leadership, and Catherine Alligood, Principal, A. H. Bangert Elementary School for Leadership in Education.
The event was created by the Craven CC Foundation to showcase excellence in leadership as demonstrated by outstanding initiative, impact of service, and inspiration of others. The recipients will be honored during this year's CFA awards ceremony, which will be held at the Riverfront Convention Center of Craven County on Tuesday, April 29 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
“It's an honor to recognize such an outstanding group of recipients,” said Charles Wethington, Craven CC’s executive director of Institutional Advancement. "The impact they make on this community cannot be overstated, and we look forward to sharing those stories during this year's event."
Below are brief descriptions for each of this year's recipients:
Individual Leadership: Gary Baldree
Gary Baldree has been recognized for his outstanding contributions to the community, exemplifying exceptional leadership and dedication. His commitment to service has made a significant impact on local initiatives and inspired others to engage in community development.
Business Leadership: Robinson and Stith Insurance
Robinson and Stith Insurance, under the leadership of President Jimmy Robinson, has been honored for its exemplary business leadership. The company has a long-standing history in New Bern, North Carolina, providing comprehensive insurance coverage since 1905. Their commitment to excellence and community involvement has set a benchmark for local businesses.
Leadership in Education: Mrs. Catherine Alligood
Catherine Alligood, Principal of A.H. Bangert Elementary School in Craven County Schools, has been recognized for her exceptional leadership in education. Her dedication to fostering a nurturing and effective learning environment has significantly benefited students and staff alike, contributing to the overall improvement of educational standards in the community.
All three recipients will be honored during the CFA ceremony. Funds raised through event sponsorships and ticket purchases are used to support the Foundation’s programs, as well as equipment, facilities, and emerging initiatives of the college.
