The Twin Rivers Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) recently awarded a $1,000 scholarship to Shaundel Godfrey, a Certified Nursing Assistant who will be applying for the nursing program at Craven Community College. AAUW is a national organization established in 1881 by women college graduates who wished to advance equality for women and girls with an emphasis on education. The local branch was founded in 1997.
