NEW BERN – Paige Winter was joined by friends and family Tuesday as she received a $3,000 donation from a GoFundMe campaign that was created to cover tuition costs for the cosmetology program at Craven Community College (Craven CC).

Winter, who gained national attention in 2019 following a shark attack that resulted in the loss of her left leg, will start at Craven CC in January. Started by Krystin Brown and Lori Glass, the GoFundMe scholarship campaign has raised enough funds to cover materials and tuition for one year of the two-year program.

Donations are still being accepted at https://www.gofundme.com/f/paige-winter-scholarship-fund/donate.
