This course will provide basic information necessary to understand street and neighborhood gangs, including:
- NC Gang Overview – specific information about active regional and local gangs
- Gang Intelligence – the intelligence process and the role of gang investigators in the process
- Interviewing Gang Members – intelligence gathering through everyday contact with gang members on the street
- Gangs and the Internet – use of the internet as a tool for gathering intelligence on local gangs
- Gang Suppression – strategies and tactics that have been effective in suppressing gang activity
- Gang Investigations – unique nature of gang investigations and gang crime scenes
Course fee is waived for all sworn/affiliated NC Law Enforcement Officers.
