Basic Street Gang Investigations

This course will provide basic information necessary to understand street and neighborhood gangs, including:

• NC Gang Overview – specific information about active regional and local gangs
• Gang Intelligence – the intelligence process and the role of gang investigators in the process
• Interviewing Gang Members – intelligence gathering through everyday contact with gang members on the street
• Gangs and the Internet – use of the internet as a tool for gathering intelligence on local gangs
• Gang Suppression – strategies and tactics that have been effective in suppressing gang activity
• Gang Investigations – unique nature of gang investigations and gang crime scenes

Course fee is waived for all sworn/affiliated NC Law Enforcement Officers.
