North Carolina Nurse Aide I employees may qualify for the Nurse Aide II credential by completing an approved program. This course provides advanced nursing skills for employment in hospitals, nursing homes, or home health agencies and are taught via class, lab and clinical/simulation. This is a hybrid course, meaning classes are held online and in person.

  • Professional solid gray scrub top; black scrub pants
     
  • Scrubs: worn each day of class. Solid white, gray, or black lab coats may be worn in class/clinicals
     
  • Professional medical shoe or tennis shoe
     
  • Students must bring own face masks. Masks must cover nose and mouth and be worn in the buildings and classroom.
     
  • Textbook and computer required:
    • Textbook information: Advanced Skills for Health Care Providers, 2nd Edition, ISBN: 978-1-4180-0133-9. Required one week before seated class starts (mandatory online orientation assignment)
    • Students must have access to internet during the course schedule for online course work and instructor correspondence
    • 200 index cards
    • $24 online fee payable to NC Board of Nursing at completion of class
  • Current NC Nurse Aide I status required
     
  • High school diploma or GED copy required. Bring copy to instructor first class session.
     
  • Background check (CBC), via Castle Branch due to Craven CC from Castle Branch no later than two weeks before class starts. Background results are submitted to Craven Community College electronically. View background check instructions.
     
  • Shot records will be discussed in detail on the first class session
     
  • Student Health Form – Read pages 1-3, complete pages 4-8
    • Flu shot optional
    • PPD/TB Tuberculosis test
    • Hepatitis B due by start of class
       
  • Current photo ID required on first class session
     
  • Copy of non-laminated social security card
