NEW BERN – Craven Community College (Craven CC), in partnership with ApprenticeshipNC, will host an Apprenticeship Employer Information & Networking Event on Thursday, June 18 from 8:30-10 a.m. at the college’s Bosch Advanced Manufacturing Center (AMC), Room 102, located at 800 College Court in New Bern.

This free event is designed to help employers learn more about Registered Apprenticeship Programs (RAPs), recognized as the gold standard in work-based learning. Local business leaders, workforce partners, and industry representatives are invited to attend and explore how apprenticeship programs can strengthen workforce development efforts, create sustainable talent pipelines, and support long-term business growth.

“Registered apprenticeships provide employers with a proven strategy for developing skilled talent while creating meaningful career pathways for students and employees,” said Dr. Gery Boucher, Craven CC VP for Development. “This event offers businesses the opportunity to learn directly from experts and discover how apprenticeship programs can address workforce challenges across many industries.”

Participants will hear from apprenticeship experts and business partners about how successful RAPs operate, strategies for engaging youth talent, and the resources available to help businesses establish or expand apprenticeship opportunities.

Employers who already have RAPs will gain insights into scaling and expanding their initiatives for greater impact. Businesses new to apprenticeships will learn the first steps to getting started and connect with key support partners throughout the region.

Event speakers will include representatives from Craven CC, ApprenticeshipNC, MyFutureNC, and local business partners.

Breakfast will be provided for attendees.

Registration available at https://cravencc.edu/ApprenticeshipNC.
