This course is designed to introduce the primary responsibilities of a central sterile technician. The course includes practical applications of learned concepts and procedures. Topics include preparation, storage, distribution of instruments, supplies and equipment, quality assurance and inventory management. Upon completion, students should be able to apply the principles of sterilization/disinfection in the workplace, as well as the principles of distribution of instruments/supplies/equipment. Each student enrolled in this section is expected to attend all the meeting times and location listed below. The online work may be done anytime during the week, and the number of hours listed indicate how much time a student should anticipate it taking to complete the online assignments each week. Courses with both classroom and clinical components, have additional times listed for the clinical dates, which are located off campus.

The instructor will lead discussions and presentations of certification materials, including a pre-test. The state examination or on-line ESCO test is administered during class. It is recommended to have successfully completing NCCER HVAC 1 or 6 months HVAC field experience.

This 8-week course is designed to expose students to various occupations and skills in the construction trades as well as provide training on how to become employed in the construction industry. Students will complete the National Center for Construction Education & Research (NCCER) Core curricula, the NCCER Field Safety curricula and will complete the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) 10-Hour Safety Certification. Students will receive certification for each of these courses upon satisfactory completion of the curriculum. Students will get hands-on training as well as classroom training. Additionally, local employers in the construction trades will meet with the class to explain opportunities in their industry and share their experience and knowledge in the construction trades and the future of the construction trades, as well as, possible employment opportunities.

Narcotic investigations can be the most dangerous type of investigation that a uniform officer might encounter in the performance of his/her duties. The officers attending this class will not only gain a complete awareness of the drugs facing them today, but they will acquire the expertise needed to make quality observations and sound judgments in determining drug use. Officers will be better equipped to identify drug distribution and smuggling not only in roadside situations but in the community that they patrol. The officer safety issues learned in this course will not only benefit the officers attending the course but the members of their community as well.
